BUV celebrates first graduating cohort of its QS Top 43 MBA in Asia at British Ambassador’s Residence 21:44:07

BUV recently hosted the MBA Celebration Dinner 2025 at the British Ambassador’s Residence, honouring the graduating MBA cohort in an evening that celebrated not only academic achievement, but also the strong sense of community and professional networking that defines the BUV MBA experience.

The event was attended by Mr Iain Frew, British Ambassador to Vietnam; Dr Mark Wheaton, Dean of BUV; Assoc. Prof. Marton Racz, Head of The Graduate School at BUV; faculty members; and MBA graduates.

The celebration marked a defining milestone for BUV: the graduation of the first MBA cohort to complete the programme following its recognition among the top 43 business schools in Asia by QS, positioning BUV among the leading institutions in the region. This cohort also graduates at a significant moment, following the recent elevation of the Vietnam – United Kingdom relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, further reinforcing the international foundation of BUV’s UK-accredited education.

Welcoming graduates and guests, Mr Iain Frew OBE, British Ambassador to Vietnam, framed the occasion within the long-standing and evolving educational partnership between the two countries. Celebrating a UK-awarded MBA at the Ambassador’s Residence symbolised not only academic success, but also the shared commitment of the UK and Vietnam to developing globally capable leaders.

“An MBA is not just a degree. It is a testament to one’s commitment to excellence, leadership, and the pursuit of knowledge,” the Ambassador remarked. “Your achievements reflect both your personal ambition and the strong partnership between the United Kingdom and Vietnam in education.”

The British Ambassador to Vietnam highlighted that BUV’s MBA graduates stand as a strong testament to the educational partnership between Vietnam and the United Kingdom.

As members of the BUV MBA Class of 2025, graduates now join a global community of UK-educated professionals equipped to lead in an increasingly complex and interconnected business environment.

Congratulating the cohort, Dr Mark Wheaton, Dean of BUV, highlighted the real-world relevance of the MBA and the determination required to complete the programme alongside demanding careers and personal commitments. While the QS ranking represents an important benchmark of academic quality, he emphasised that the true value of the MBA lies in the resilience, perspective, and professional relationships graduates carry forward.

“You are leaving BUV not only with advanced knowledge and skills,” he shared, “but with the ability to make a meaningful impact in your organisations and communities. Your success is a testament to the excellence of BUV’s educational programs and the support of our faculty and staff.”

Dr Mark Wheaton congratulated all MBA graduates on this special milestone, recognising their perseverance and dedication throughout the journey.

Building on this, Assoc. Prof. Marton Racz, Head of The Graduate School at BUV, underscored that one of the most enduring outcomes of postgraduate study is the network formed through shared experience.

“The learning doesn’t only happen in the classroom,” he noted. “It happens in conversations, debates, and challenges you worked through together. That shared journey is what creates a professional community that lasts well beyond graduation.”

Assoc. Prof. Marton Racz emphasised that the value of the MBA extends far beyond the classroom, reflected in the lifelong professional networks built along the journey.

As the first cohort to graduate after the programme’s QS Top 43 Asia recognition, the MBA Class of 2025 carries a dual distinction: academic excellence validated by global standards, and membership in an expanding MBA alumni network that BUV continues to invest in through networking events, alumni engagement, and postgraduate initiatives.

“The MBA programme challenged us both academically and professionally, but more importantly, it brought us together through shared experiences, perspectives, and values,” shared Ms. Dang Thi Nghinh Xuan, Founder of Swann Scholarship and a graduate from the MBA Class of 2025. “I feel fortunate to be part of such a diverse cohort, where the positive energy and commitment of everyone throughout the journey continually inspired me to grow and improve myself. Graduation feels less like an ending and more like becoming part of something bigger: a community that I know will continue to support and inspire me long after this celebration.”

The celebration concluded with a shared understanding that graduation is not an endpoint, but a transition from students to alumni, from a single cohort to a lasting professional network.

The achievements of the Class of 2025 and growing alumni engagement reflect the progress of BUV’s MBA programme, underscoring the University’s commitment to academic excellence and its long-term vision of becoming the leading international university in Vietnam and the surrounding region.

As a UK-awarded programme recognised among the QS Top 43 MBAs in Asia, the BUV MBA is designed for working professionals seeking global relevance and real-world impact. Delivered by a 100% internationally qualified faculty, the programme combines academic rigour with immersive industry engagement and problem-based learning, while fostering a strong professional network. With flexible evening and weekend study options, the BUV MBA enables future leaders to advance their careers while balancing professional and personal commitments.
